The notion of encouraging consumers to contribute to a more sustainable environment arises from the over-consumption of plastic, especially single-use plastics, in the past decades.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Why is Plastic harmful to our environment?<\/span><\/h2>

Plastic material sticks around in our environment much much longer than our life spans; it takes hundreds, if not thousands of years, for plastics to disintegrate. When there is an overwhelming amount of plastic wastes, it leads to plastic pollution that not only affects our Earth\u2019s ecosystem, it also results in global warming, all of which will have detrimental effects on our future generations.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

What can we do to help?<\/span><\/h2>

While the use of plastic material in some cases is inevitable, what everyone can do is to try to <\/span>reduce using single-use plastic items<\/span> in our daily lives.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

In conjunction with the global movement Plastic Free July, we would also like to share on how individuals can do their part to minimise using single-use plastic, and be a part of the solution to our planet\u2019s plastic pollution.<\/span><\/p>

  1. Use your own reusable cup for takeaway coffee<\/span><\/h3><\/li><\/ol>

    Many of us need our coffee or tea caffeine fix everyday, be it at work in the office, or working from home. Disposable coffee cups, even those that are labelled \u201ccompostable\u201d are not recyclable in many areas as the highly specific facilities required are not made available easily.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

    Bringing your own cups or mugs is only a little action from each person, but imagine the impact made as a whole, this will definitely reduce the amount of disposable cups used by us ultimately.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
